THE BOYS ON BIKES - CHARITY CYCLE RIDE
As you may already know Adam Payne has committed himself to another feat for charity. Adam and two colleagues Laurence and Ian are joining him to cycle from Lands End to John O' Groats. They have all been training for the last four months and are leaving Saturday 9th October 2010 to be at the most westerly tip of England to start their epic journey on Sunday 10th October 2010.
Why have the three of them decided to cycle just under 1000 miles in 8 days?
They are doing this in order to raise as much money as they can for a charity called Helen & Douglas House. Helen & Douglas House is a registered charity providing respite and end of life care for children and young adults with life-shortening conditions, as well as support and friendship for the whole family.
The charity was chosen as it is currently the captains charity and close to Ian's Heart. We have currently raised £3000 and are hoping to have it up around £5000 before the end of October 2010.
The two hospice houses are bright, vibrant and positive places, where the emphasis is on living life to the full, even when that life may be short. Please visit the website www.helenanddouglas.org.uk
